Famous for his work with American country musician Skeeter Davis, this Norwegian vocalist and songwriter is best remembered for his 1976 cover of ‘Diggy Liggy Lo’ and for his 1985 #1 Norwegian country hit, ‘Skilsmisseferd i Hardanger.’
He and his early band, the Apaches, released their debut single, “Oh, Susie Be Mine,” in 1964. Early in his career, he also collaborated with members of the popular 1970s country rock group Flying Norwegians.
Shortly after releasing his 1989 album American Dreamer, he won the London Country Music Roundup’s Male Vocalist of the Year honor.
