Popular film and television actor best known for his role as “Pancho” on the TV Western series, “The Cisco Kid.”

He was born into a prominent California family: his great-uncle had served as mayor of Los Angeles, and his grandfather had been elected Governor of the California territory.

He was elected to the California Parks Commission as a result of his successful work as a conservationist. Later, a state park and a beach in Malibu were named after him.
