Allen Davis was a retired American Football coach. He also did own Oakland Raiders, which participated in the National Football League. He served as the general manager of the team for a period of 39 years; this is from the year 1972 to the year 2011. Before acquiring the majority shares in the team, he did work as the team head coach. This was between the years 1963 to the year 1965. Between the years 1966 to the year 1971, he had very few shares in the team. Al Davis did serve as the commissioner of the American Football League in the year 1966.
